Ghana’s Asamoah helps Juventus to Super Cup victory
Juventus beat Napoli 4-2 to win the 2012 Italian Supercup in Beijing on Saturday after scoring twice in extra time.
The match came a day after Juventus coach Antonio Conte was suspended for 10 months for his role in a domestic match-fixing scandal.
Edinson Cavani put Napoli ahead in the 27th minute, Kwadwo Asamoah equalized for Juventus and Goran Pandev restored Napoli’s lead just before the break. Arturo Vidal levelled for Juventus in the 73rd minute from the penalty spot.
The match then swung the Italian champion’s way when Napoli had Pandev and Juan Zuniga sent off in the last five minutes of regular time.
Juventus took full advantage in extra time, courtesy of an own goal by Christian Maggio and a strike from Mirko Vucinic.
