Mohamed Salah made his maiden appearance with Basel in Wednesday's 1-1 Champions League draw with Norwegian side Molde, which lifted Basel to the next round with a 2-1 aggregate win.
The 21-year-old forward, who moved to Basel from Egyptian side Arab Contractors this summer, came off the bench in the 74th minute when his side were trailing 1-0, helping them score the equalizer two minutes after his introduction.
Salah produced a string of fine displays with Egypt at the London Games, scoring three goals in as many games in the group stage. However, the young Pharaohs eventually exited the tournament after losing 3-0 to Japan in the quarterfinal.
