SCAF faces legal complaint of squandering billions over parliamentary elections
A member of the Revolutionary Youth Coalition, Yasser Farouk Abdel-Hafiz presented an official complaint on Tuesday to the General Prosecutor against Egypt's de-facto ruler, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi head of the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF).
The submission alleges that the SCAF squandered approximately 2 billion Egyptian pounds over the parliamentary elections, and attempts to waste the same amount in repeating the process as parliamentary elections will be reheld later this year after the parliament was dissolved last Thursday by Egypt's High Constitutional Court.
The court dissolved the People's Assembly citing the unconstitutionality of the parliamentary election law, as party members were allowed to compete in the individual lists, which was deemed as an unfair advantage over independents.
According to Abdel-Hafiz, the SCAF, overseeing the transitional period following the ouster of former president Hosni Mubarak, could have studied the parliamentary election law earlier and so avoided it being dissolved several months after it was elected.
Abdel-Hafiz accused SCAF of having intended to dissolve parliament earlier, but deciding to postpone it for political reasons. He cites as evidence of this Prime Minister Kamal El-Ganzouri's threats to dissolve the People's Assembly in response to parliamentary attempts to withdraw confidence from Ganzouri's government in March and April, 2012.

The convenient marriage between Iran and the Arab left would have been unthinkable only a few years ago, given the traditional ideological paradoxes between patriarchal Persian Shiism, on the one hand, and leftist orthodoxy on the other.Indeed, a casual viewer of Hizbullah's Al-Manar television, or the Iranian-funded Al-Mayadin TV, these days would probably think that the two Shia propaganda
