Bomb attacks hit Egypt's Sharqia early Friday, leave no casualties

Several bomb attacks hit Sharqia governorate, northern part Egypt, in the early hours of Friday, according to Youm7.

The governorate’s capital Zaqaziq witnessed two consecutive explosions; the first at a mobile operator company and the second at Zaqaziq University stadium. The blasts were only a few minutes apart, Youm7 reported.

The two explosions did not result in causalities, but damaged the company’s façade and smashed two cars.

Meanwhile, Security agencies in the governorate were notified about two improvised explosive devices; one placed near the Administrative Control Authority and another near the Agriculture Directorate.

Civil protection forces dismantled the two IEDs, and a subsequent security alert was announced in Zaqaziq.

The Egyptian Red Crescent medical authority in the governorate has announced the emergency state in anticipation of any potential bombings.
