A few dozen Egypt's poets joined Wednesday evening leading
opposition figure Ayman Nour in Bab el-Shaariya to inaugurate the
artists’ commitment and solidarity with Nour’s “against succession”
campaign he helped make manifest on October 14
However, the meeting
and fanfare never came to fruition, as some 50 police officers stormed
the gathering, causing havoc, eyewitnesses reported.

Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) announced this week the formation of a human
rights coalition consisting of 148 rights groups and organizations to
monitor elections in Egypt
Egypt's Human Rights Rroups (EHRG) are coming together in an effort to ensure
future elections in Egypt are free and fair.

Egypt allows medical supplies into Gaza |

Egypt agreed on Wednesday to allow a shipment of medical supplies into
Gaza through the Rafah crossing, which is normally reserved for
passengers, a security official said.
An Egyptian security official said that Union of Arab Doctors had
delivered seven tons of medical supplies to the crossing. After
coordination with Egyptian authorities, the goods were allowed to
cross, the source said.
