Egyptian largest publicly traded car assembly and retail company, Ghabbour Auto (GB) AUTO.CA was open to new acquisitions as its own growth slows, and could finance them through earnings and debt, the company reported on Monday

Ghabbour, whose net profit surged 88 percent in the third quarter, said it was on the lookout for local and regional opportunities that may present themselves in the context of an economic slowdown.

Ezz Steel ESRS.CA, Egypt's largest steel producer, will distribute a dividend of two Egyptian pounds ($0.36) per share for the first six months of 2008, investor relations head Kamel Galal said on Monday

The dividend, approved by a general assembly meeting on Sunday and equivalent to 16 percent of the current share price, wil probably be distributed within about a month, he said.

EFG-Hermes HRHO.CA, Egypt's largest investment bank by market value, said on Monday it would buy up to 5 million treasury shares, the latest in a series of buybacks after shares have plunged

The bank, whose third-quarter profit tumbled about 50 percent, said it would buy back the shares between Nov. 17 and Dec. 16. It did not say at what price it would buy the shares.
