Orascom Telecom and Orascom Construction Industries shares plunged on Tuesday after both firms missed third-quarter profit forecasts, dragging down Egypt's index
The CASE 30 index fell 7.78 percent to 4,205.99 points, the lowest in over 3 years.

Shares of Orascom Telecom, the largest Arab mobile operator by subscribers, tumbled 14.02 percent to 23.80 pounds ($4.30), its sharpest single-day drop in nearly two years.

A nearly 300 percent of OCI rise in third-quarter net profit to $205.1 million, but missed market forecasts, according to Egyptian largest builder by market value, Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) statement

Revenue for the quarter rose 75 percent to $991.9 million, the Cairo-based group said in a statement.

Orascom Telecom Holding (OT) SAE, the biggest mobile-phone company in the Middle East, said nine-month profit declined 70 percent from a year earlier, when earnings were boosted by a one-time gain

Net income dropped to $345.3 million, or $1.80 a share, from $1.3 billion, or $5.96, a year earlier, the Cairo-based company said in an e-mailed statement today. Third-quarter profit was $69.4 million, the company said without giving a comparison.
