increase the deficit target as any extra funds would be off-budget
Ghali said "The budget target
is not changed," adding that "Additional
spending is by economic authorities out of their own resources."

Egyptian Minister of Trade Rachid Mohamed
Rachid announced that Egypt will export 400,000 to 600,000 tonnes of rice in the current
season depending on supply and demand
Rachid said last week the country would cap its rice exports at 100,000
tonnes per month, with each licence in a closed envelope bidding
process limited to 34,000 tonnes. The rice season in Egypt begins in
late August or early September.

49 percent in selected state-owned firms but is in no hurry to offload
the assets

licences, the industry regulator said on Wednesday, with one official
describing the tenders as just a first step to further liberalisation.
