Challenge Tour Members dominated the opening day of the 2009 Egyptian Open, with Carl Suneson leading the way on seven under par.

The Spaniard eagled the sixth hole en route to a flawless round of 65 at the Mirage City Golf Club in Egypt, the host venue for an event which will form part of the Challenge Tour Schedule from next year.

Suneson’s fellow Challenge Tour Members Julien Grillon of France and Wales’ Kyron Sullivan currently share second place on six under par, alongside Sweden’s Calle Carlsson.

Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie is also in the field, Europe’s Ryder Cup Captain signing for a three under par round of 69.
