Egypt, Rwanda discuss cooperation

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday discussed with his counterpart Paul Kagame of Rwanda about African issues, and in the forefront the situation in the Great Lakes region and its impact on the headwaters of the Nile.

The two heads of state also discussed the international efforts, including Egyptian efforts, to promote stability and security in the Great Lakes region.

An Egyptian official source told reporters on Thursday that the summit between the two presidents also discussed ways to enhance cooperation with the countries of the Nile Basin and the development of the Nile Basin Framework Agreement to strengthen coordination and consultation, and cooperation in various areas.
