At a press conference organized on Wednesday by the Free Constitutional Party, held to articulate the party's position regarding the current political situation, security personnel from the Interior Ministry demanded the names of all attendees. Party officials provided the requested names without objection.

The conference also witnessed a clash between party leader Mamdouh Qenawi and George Isaac, leader of the Kefaya pro-democracy movement. The altercation began after Issac admonished Qenawi for not signing a petition calling for international supervision of Egyptian elections.

"I haven't seen that memo. And you never invite us to participate in your activities anyway," Qenawi told Isaac, who walked out of the conference shortly afterward.
