Bock assumes dutiesas Germany Ambassador in Cairo

German diplomat Michael Bock has recently arrived in Cairo to assume his duties as the Ambassador of Germany to Egypt.

Over the past six years, Bock has served at German Foreign Ministry, and spent considerable time of his diplomatic career in Caracas, Bangkok, Amman, and Madrid.

Bock has recently presented a copy of his credentials to Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit.In his maiden statements, Bock said that the Egyptian-German cooperation had reached an unprecedented level and underlined the importance of not only cementing the official ties, but also building and strengthening bridges between people of both countries.

“Personal contact poses the basis for friendship among peoples,” Bock explained.Born in 1953, Bock studied Law in Munich, received special training in International Law, and joined the German Foreign Service in 1983. He is married, with two children.
