Hamas is reflecting on an Egyptian-proposed Palestinian reconciliation deal, a senior Hamas official told Alalam on Sunday.

Ezzat al-Rashaq, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, said in a statement that there was no agreed date for the visit of Hamas delegation to Cairo.

"However we are studying the Egyptian proposal," he added.

Hamas member told Alalam that the resistance movement is mulling over some points and items included in the proposal that are not agreed upon yet.

Hamas delayed sending its delegation to Cairo to give its response to proposal last week.

Vice-Chairman of the political bureau of Hamas, Moussa Abu Marzouk told Alalam on Sunday that contacts were under way with Egyptian officials to determine a later date.

The Hamas delegation was to travel to Cairo on Sunday, but the trip was postponed indefinitely.

Hamas has not said what its response will be to the Egyptian unity proposal, which Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmud Abbas's Fatah has already signed.
