A number of activists on the "Facebook" called for nominating Gamal Mubarak, the eldest son of Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak for the post of the head of the Egyptian Business Association, in his capacity as an accountant, meanwhile, more than other 58 groups, on the same site, called for nominating him for the Egyptian presidential elections

A number of activists opposing Gamal Mubarak's nomination for the presidency, opened a group on the Facebook under the name "Together for selecting Gamal Mubarak as head of the Business Association"

Accountant Ahmed Imam, founder of the group, said Gamal Mubarak, who the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) Assistant Secretary-General has become a candidate for the presidency only because he is the President's son. If he were not the President's son, his great ambition was to nominate himself for the Egyptian Business Association.

The number of subscribers in this group did not exceed 170, most of them refused to mock at Gamal Mubarak. They seriously called on him to do that; to be a step in the way of his arrival to the presidency.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of Cairo Business Association Sharif Qassem welcomed the proposal for nominating Gamal Mubarak as head of Egypt's Business Association, because this would solve the association's problems with Ahmed Ezz and Egypt's Finance Minister Youssef Boutros Ghali.

Qassem said that "Gamal Mubarak is not a member in the association. I asked him to nominate himself, but he said he had no time"

On the other hand, Gamal Mubarak's supporters launched 58 groups on the Facebook, including over 50,000 subscribers. The campaign is led by With You Movement.

In addition, there are other 15 groups with more than 12,000 subscribers, under the name "Young People with Gamal Mubarak" and "Youth for Supporting Gamal Mubarak". All subscribers showed desire to participate in Gamal Mubarak's electoral campaign.
