Three days after opening the Rafah Border Terminal between the Gaza
Strip and Egypt, the Egyptian Authorities decided on Tuesday morning to
close the terminal
Interior Ministry at the dissolved Hamas government in Gaza reported that Egypt promised to fully open the terminal soon.
Local sources reported that the decision could be related to a possible internal Palestinian unity agreement that would also guarantee the opening of border terminals in Gaza.
Hundreds of residents of the Gaza Strip have complained of bad treatment by the Egyptian side, especially since only a limited number of residents authorized to travel actually made it through the border.
