| Bird flu cases discovered on Germany |

Local authorities in the southern German state have announced that bird flu was discovered on Friday at a farm near Erlangen in BavariaRemarkable, a three kilometer exclusion zone has been set up around the farm. Worth mentioning, the H5N1 virus was found in several chickens at the farm containing 44,000 animals. The authorities added that analysis is being carried out at a laboratory to establish the exact strain of the virus. Meanwhile, the contaminated birds had been delivered around four weeks ago from Lower Saxony. Noticeable, dead ducks carrying the H5N1 virus were found in Bavaria at the beginning of August. In total, more than 50 wild birds carrying the virus have been found dead since the beginning of the summer in different German regions including Bavaria, Thuringia and Saxony.
