Egypt's Criminal Court is to return a verdict on the money laundering and ill-gotten gains trial ‎of former Egyptian minister of interior Habib El-Adly on Thursday

El-Adly, who was sacked and arrested in the early days of the January 25 Revolution, is ‎accused of abusing his authority to accumulate illegal profits since his appointment in 1997. ‎

He is also accused of ordering the killing of peaceful protesters in the 18-day revolt, which ‎instigated the ouster of former president Hosni Mubarak, also in police custody ‎facing charges.‎

Throughout the four sessions-trial on illicit profiteering, El-Adly has pleaded not guilty. He claims innocence on the rest of the charges.
