CAF Champions league finalists Esperance Sportive de Tunis have been fined $50,000 for the fans riot in Cairo, Egypt during their semi-final match against Al Ahly.

Following a CAF Disciplinary Committee meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa, the team is also obliged to cover the damages caused by their fans at Cairo Stadium.

Dozens of Esperance aficionados were seen ripping off seats, firing banned flames and beating unarmed stewards during the 2-1 defeat in the Egyptian capital. Eleven supporters were detained in connection with the melee.

In a related development, CAF also fined the “Blood and Gold” $15,000 for the 'aggressive behavior of players' during last week's 5-0 final thrashing at Lubumbashi.
