By far the biggest criticism faced by the establishment of these zones in Jordan is doing business with Israel. Popular sympathy to the Palestinian cause is widespread among the Arabs, and against Israel. Many Jordanians resent working with Israelis to get access to US markets. In addition, business establishments are wary that the agreement is held at the mercy of the US government, that can be revoked at anytime. Economic experts have also pointed out that most of the labor in QIZ areas are done by unmarried women, who quit working after marriage thus depriving the Jordanian economy of valuable skill sets.
