Egypt's former first lady Suzanne Mubarak has been remanded in custody for 15 days pending investigations into corruption.

The wife of ousted president Hosni Muabrak is under investigation by the Illicit Gains Authority for illegally profiting from her position of power.

The head of the authority's investigative unit, Khaled Selim, travelled to Sharm El-Sheikh on Friday to question her.

It is not yet known where she will be detained. But security and judicial sources said Suzanne Mubarak would be taken to a Cairo prison.
