The Cairo Criminal Court upheld the Illicit Profiteering Authority's decision to freeze former speaker of parlaiment Fathi Sorour's assets.

In court decision includes the assest of his wife Zienab Mahmoud El- Fouly and his children Hanaa, Hanan and Tarek as well as his second wife Marwa Muhammad Rashwan

Prosecutor Essam El-Gohary, assistant justice minister for the Illicit Gains Authority, issued decision 7/ 2011  preventing Sorour and his two wives from using any of their assests."

In the wake of the court's decision Sorour's lawyer Hussein Obeid broke into tears.
