Egypt's cabinet announced on Saturday the appointment of Nihal Kamal Mohamed Hafez as head of State Television, Ibrahim Kamel El-Said as head of News and Ismail Mohamed El-Sheshtawy El-Iraqy as head of Broadcasting Department

The appointments follow those made on Wednesday of new chairmen and editors-in-chief for Egypt's state run print media.

Protests have been ongoing in front of television and radio headquarters in Maspero demanding the removal of the heads of several sectors in the Radio and Television Union.
