Egypt's Manpower Minister Ahmed Hassan al-Borei said that the new rules on allowing foreigners to work in Egypt would be announced next week

Al Borei "A foreigner would not be assigned what an Egyptian worker can do"

Al-Borei denied the new rules contradict foreign investment promotion policies. “Foreign investment means creating job opportunities for Egyptians,” he said.

“The new rules would be based on international labor laws,” he added, noting that some foreigners work in the textile industry without work permits.

The minister, however, confirmed that work permits already issued would not be affected by the new rules.
