Tuesday, 20 October 2009
Sportsmen and artists in Egypt have announced their commitment to the initiative launched by Egypt's Independent newspaper Al Masry Al Youm under the slogan "a flower for every Algerian football player" for the preservation of historical and friendly relationships between Egypt and Algeria.

Adherents to the initiative have emphasized that the idea to host the Algerian footballers with flowers upon their arrival in Cairo as part of the playoffs of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, reflects the friendship between Egypt and Algeria.

The initiator, Madjd El Djellad, managing editor of the major newspaper "El Misri El Youm" told APS that this initiative has spilled much ink in the Egyptian press and provoked positive reactions among the public and of Egyptian players.
