Fresh from leading Ghana to claim the Fifa Under-20 World Cup, Sellas Tetteh is looking ahead for the next challenge.

Sellas, has now set his sights of landing the Olympic team job as he wants to guide the Black Meteors to the London 2012 Olympic Games. Ghana's last appearance at the Olympics was in 1996.

“That depends on the GFA but when you are talking about progression and a steady development of a team then we are on course and that will be the right thing to do,” he said of the Olympic job. “I am there to work, I have been assigned on different courses and at any given time I am there for any challenge.”

Sellas Tetteh has over the last decade enjoyed relative success after staying in an assistant role with the Black Stars during their debut World Cup in 2006. He led the Black Starlets to a last four finish at the 2007 World U-17 tournament in South Korea.

And a year after his job with the U-17s, he also had a stint with the Black Stars where he started the preliminary round and the second round qualifiers of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers before he was replaced by Milovan Rajevac.

But his stint at the U-20 level has put him in a different league as he is the first coach to have guided Ghana to the world title, a maiden feat also by an African side and coach. The former junior team coach believes that the success at the U-20 World Cup proves that he is a capable coach.

"Whether in West African competitions, at the Africa Cup of Nations or at the World Cup we have proved that we can win but it is the consistency of my team that bares me out as a good coach. I have no doubt about that," Sellas added.
