Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has met with the Hungarian president Laszlo Solyom in Budapest of Hungary during his a European tour including a number of Eastern European countries Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, expressed Egypt's appreciation for the positive and balanced role to Hungary from the Middle East issues, particularly its support for an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace and security. During a joint press conference with Hungary's President Solyom on Tuesday, Egypt's president looked forward to continued Hungarian support for peace process by bilateral contacts with regional and international parties and through Hungary's membership in the EU and its current Chairman of the "Vishgrad" Community of Central Europe."Egyptian-Hungarian talks included the consequences of the current global economy crisis," said Egyp's Mubarak, adding that "It was an example of the common challenges we are dealing with in a changing world which urges to strengthen consultation and cooperation among us to confront them." He said that "We will open together tomorrow .. Forum of Hungarian-Egyptian businessmen, and I sincerely look forward to contribute towards the achievement of a quantum leap to promote Hungarian-Egyptian investments and trade. And supports the cooperation between the private sector and businessmen, chambers of commerce in both countries." "I am confident that we have a great potential to achieve this quantum leap. In both the partnership agreement between Egypt and the European Union .. or in the framework of the bilateral economic cooperation between us," said Mubarak, adding that "I express to you again my appreciation and pride. I look forward to welcoming you to the Egyptian country at the earliest opportunity." For his part, Hungary's Laszlo Solyom welcomed and his country of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak as the first Egyptian president to visit Budapest after 81 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. "The visit is aimed primarily at strengthening existing good relations between the two countries and open new horizons for economic and political cooperation, to more help of reinforcement bilateral cooperation," said Solyom. He added "Tomorrow I will join the Egyptian President Mubarak in the Egyptian-Hungarian Businessmen Forum, " adding that he had previously been preparing for that important forum during the visit of Egypt's oil and trade ministers in the past months to Hungary" He said "There's a bilateral trade relations between Egypt and Hungary, and there is an increase in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, adding the talks showed that Egypt is considering Hungary as a Central Europe's gateway for entring its exports, where Hungary currently the official chairs of the Central Europe "Vishgrad" community, in return Hungary is considering Egypt as its gateway to the Arab world and African continent. "The talks with President Mubarak focused in particular on increasing cooperation between Egypt and Hungary in the fields of energy, especially natural gas of which Egypt can be a potential party in the export of gas to Hungary and Europe through the pipeline project (Nabucco)," said Solyom. He added that "Also, the talks tackled the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, as Egypt is a leader in the success and activated it. Hungary's president promised that his country will make an extra effort to strengthen the Euro-Mediterranean relations upon receipt EU presidency early in 2011" Solyom said that "Hungary will seek during its presidency of the European Union to work to further strengthen for Egypt's relations with the European Union as a whole in order to achieve the common interest of both sides" Also, the political affairs in his discussions with President Mubarak dealt in detail with the Middle East issue and Egypt's efforts, including the possibility of progress for Palestinian unity and reconciliation between the rival "Fatah" and "Hamas", Hungarian president said. He praised the active role of Egypt in this case as well as the basic conditions which must be provided to achieve the desired peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Solyom said "President Mubarak explained him in that regard the seriousness of sensitive issues as Jerusalem and settlements" Hungary's president expressed his country's readiness to contribute and cooperate in resolving the conflict and reach a settlement during his country's good relations with Israeli and Palestinian sides, which promotes an aim sought by all to avoid violence and achieve peace and stability.
