Sheffield has seen a 148% increase in website searches by holidaymakers, a study has found. The city was third on a list of places thought to be enjoying a tourist boom from parents who stop on after dropping their children off at university.
The Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh had the biggest rise in searches last month - up 383% compared with September 2008, according to the research from travel company Expedia.co.uk.
