Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali has expressed delight to have been part of the country's Under-20 side that recently took part in the World Youth Championships held in Egypt.

Jali even scored for Amajita when they defeated Honduras 2-0 to qualify for the last 16.

He told the club's website: "I really enjoyed my time with the national team in Egypt. It was a wonderful experience for me. I really learnt a lot during my time there- it was really awesome."

The 19-year-old didn't feature for Amajita when they faced Ghana in the last 16 due to suspension. He also picked up an injury during the side's training, that will force him to miss the Bucs next match against Santos.

"I hurt my hamstring at training before our Last 16 match against Ghana last week.

"I reported early at training on Monday morning and explained my situation to the Head coach who referred me to the medical staff for full assessment. I was later booked to undergo a scan which revealed the extent of my injury.

"To be honest, I didn't think it was a serious injury but that wasn't the case," he said.

The Soweto outfit has missed Jali in midfield having drawn their last two matches without him.

"I am very disappointed because I was looking forward to re-joining my team-mates and continue where I left off, but that isn't the case and as a result I'm going to miss the game against Santos.

"I would have loved to express myself much better on the field of play and share my experience with my team-mates; unfortunately, I will have to wait a little bit longer. Nonetheless, it's not the end of the world; I will get over my injury setback and bounce back into action," he said.
