Egyptian cement maker Misr Beni Suef Cement (MBSC) will start operating a new production line by the end of the month expected to yield 5,000 tonnes of clinker per day

Total investments for the line were 1.8 billion Egyptian pounds ($329 million), the local financial newspaper Al Alam Al Youm quoted the company's managing director Farouk Moustafa as saying.

An official at Beni Suef said local news reports were correct but declined further comment.

Misr Beni Suef aims to double production capacity by the first quarter of next year with the introduction of another line, Egypt's CI Capital said in a research note.

"It is worth highlighting that this new production line requires a total investment cost of 1.5 billion Egyptian pounds, including the 134.5 million pound and 148 million pound licence cost and energy supply cost," CI Capital said.

CI Capital has a 'hold' rating on the cement company's stock, with a target price of 155.8 pounds. Shares were trading at 128.05 pounds by 0930 GMT.
