Another five students were also quarantined in a fever hospital in the province of Fayoum, south of Cairo. In the Delta province of Daqahlia, one student was quarantined and ten others sent home pending medical examination for showing flu-like symptoms.

Meanwhile, 19 students in the southern city of Beni Suef and 15 students in the southern city of Minya were also sent home pending further examination. Two suspected cases of H1N1 were also reported in two different schools in the coastal city of Alexandria.

At a recent conference organized by the Nasserist party in Suez, coordinator of the Right to Health opposition movement Muhammad Khalil accused the health ministry of failing to preempt the spread of the virus, calling on the government to combat the disease by "any means necessary."

To date, only three Egyptians are said to have died from swine flu.
