Egypt to Intensify Procedures for Facing Swine FluEndemic and chest diseases-specialized doctors warned the residents of Zamalek district against going to crowded places, stressing on the distribution of protective masks to everyone in those places
This came right after the declaration of the ُEgyptian Health Ministry pertaining to 7 swine flu- infected American University in Cairo students.

The doctors also, asked for giving the Tamiflu vaccine, as a "prevention" measure, to those who have been in direct contact with the infected cases, either American University in Cairo students or workers.

However, Dr. Ashraf Omar, Professor of digestive system, liver and endemic diseases at Qasr Al-'Ini School of Medicine said that "preventive measures must be intensified in the areas where the virus is discovered, so masks must be distributed to individuals in crowded places.

As for Zamalek where the American University in Cairo dormitory is located, Omar suggested that people of Zamalek should put on masks and wash their hands constantly with water, soap and alcohol.

These procedures should be also applied in the places close to the American University in Cairo campus." He also added, as one of the medical preventions, that Tamiflu must be given to those who have been in direct contact with the infected students and it must also be given within 48 hours to whoever shows the symptoms.

Professor and Head of the Chest Diseases Department at Banha School of Medicine Dr. Amr Badr Al-Din called the Egyptian government to distribute masks to whoever is obliged to work in crowded places, adding that if anyone of those who have been in direct contact with the infected students, either students or workers, shows the flu symptoms, he or she must go immediately to the hospital referring that the symptoms show within 3 to 5 days from the time of infection.

On the other hand, Dr.Adel Khattab, professor and head of chest department at Ain Shams School of Medicine and Chest Diseases Advisor at the Egyptian Health Ministry, mentioned that once any of those who have been in direct contact with the infected individuals, show the symptoms, they must go immediately to Abbasiya Fevers Hospital, adding that this issue should not be overestimated least citizens should panic.
