Egypt detained worker on suspicion of Swine FluEgyptian Fevers Hospital in Banha held a pig farm worker in Imbaba on suspicion of swine flu infection. The delegation of Egypt meeting with the World Health Organization asked the organization for clarification on the reason for the amplification of the HIN1 virus , which causes the disease, and whether it is for the benefit of the global pharmaceutical companies.

According to Director of Preventive Medicine in Qualyoubiya Dr. Abdelaty Abdaleem, the suspect, Mohamed Mustafa Ahmed Gad Alrab, 27, is suffering from a high fever and pain.  He was transferred yesterday from the Qanatir charity hospital to Banha Fever Hospital on suspicion of being infected with the disease.  He has been isolated and samples were taken from him for analysis at the labs of the Central Ministry of Health.

Egyptian Health Ministry analysis showed negative results from those taken from a German tourist, who was detained a few days ago on suspicion of swine flu .

Sources on the port of Damietta reported the presence of a cargo port that has been there since May 12 (last received from the Philippines on behalf of Adel Mansour Ahmed).  This cargo contains 20 packets of pigs' hair and materials for the adhesive.  The cargo remains on the port has they have not yet released it.

The sources said that samples of the shipment have been taken and sent for analysis.  However the results are yet to be received thus the investigation is ongoing as well as the examination procedures for import and how to access the port.

In Menya, Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, director of Veterinary Medicine, said that the governorate has not yet been officially declared free of the pigs after the execution of 500 pigs.

In Suez, Dr. Adel Abbas, Under-secretary of the Ministry of communications of Veterinary Medicine, said there is the presence of meat on the fishing boat 'Negmet Elnegoum' on Alatika port.
A committee of veterinary quarantine have inspected the refrigerator on the boat and found three infected calves of anonymous origin and reserved the boat at the port.  The prosecution will continue its investigation.

In a related development, Dr. Nasr Alsayed, Assistant Minister of Health for care and preventive medicine, said that the Egyptian delegation participating in the meetings of the World Health Organization asked for clarification on the reason for the amplification of the swine flu epidemic, and the rise from the fourth to fifth levels in less than four days.  They suspect it was done for the benefit of some of the global pharmaceutical companies.

Alsayed added, in a symposium held by the Conference on health-care providers on the Federation of Industries of influenza epidemiology and disease control, WHO officials stressed that there are fixed rules in dealing with such cases, and that the 1000 meeting was held in the world to discuss the situation and the views of the epidemic specialists and those responsible for health in the world.

He pointed out that the organization has given the right to the Indian pharmaceutical company to produce the medicine Tamiflu, in order to break the monopoly of the American company producing it.
They also state that the Indian company will be able to produce and distribute the drug worldwide in a few weeks.

To this end, the report of the Center for Information and Decision Support Council of Ministers, said that there were no cases of animal or human disease infections of swine flu in all governorates of the republic.
