| Egypt OCI wins $258 mln power plant contract |

The contract covers procurement, fabrication and erection of steel
structures as well as piling and concrete works for a new 1,300
megawatt steam-powered power plant in Abu Qir, near Alexandria. The firm is currently constructing a number of power plants in Egypt and Algeria with a total power generation of 4,150 megawatts. Egypt's largest listed builder and fertilizer maker, Egypt’s Orascom Construction Industries said Monday that its construction group secured a record $5.47 billion in new orders in 2008 and ended the year with a consolidated construction backlog of $6.93 billion.
