The back to back loss to Juventus has put a huge dent in Real Madrid’s hopes of topping Group H in the Champions League.
While the Blancos sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic felt the team deserved at least a draw in Turin two weeks ago, he made no attempts to hide that his side were comprehensively outsmarted by their Italian rivals last night at the Bernabéu.
“Defensively, they (Juventus) played a great game and there was nothing we could have done,” he said during the post-match interviews.
“It’s normal for the fans to protest when the team isn’t doing well. They have the right not be satisfied with us.
“I did not expect to lose twice to Juve but the Champions League is always complicated,” he added.
But Mijatovic had words of encouragement for coach, Bernd Schuster and his troops: “This is a match to forget. But there are still many games ahead of us this season and it is necessary to believe that we can continue fighting in each and every one of them.”
