This is great...

However, the goverment should also implement more strick rules on who gets the driving licenses at the first place.

I believe that many Egyptian do not follow the rules because they never were educated to follow the rules... They do not even know how to drive. What it is needed is more driving instruccion and no more bribiring when getting the licenses.

Cheers

While all these laws would theoretically reduce the number of accidents, the problem is the enforcement, i watch as cars with no side mirrors, people on motorbikes with no helmets, drive right by police officers- and i\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve had more than a dozen trucks drive at me obviously in the wrong direction- whom seem keener on stopping those on mobile phones or people whom seem to have a higher income so that they can get payed- corruption is therefore a big problem whether we

When will the police begin to enforce these laws - especially the ones that really contribute to Egypts terrible road safety record?

I am thinking particularly of:
Driving at night without head and tail lights,
Driving in the opposite direction
Using a hand held mobile phone.

Also what about the heavy goods vehickles, and other slow moving vehicles, that refuse to leave the left hand lane to allow overtaking?

Somehow the priorities seem all wrong to me.

1- Please inform us about the Egyptian citizens coming from another country by their cars, to spend a holyday, and returning back again, what should they bring with them from the other country regarding the safety appliances, like {fire extinguisher , first air kit, and the triangle warning sign}. is the customs areas in Hurghada, or Safaga will permit this or do we have to purchase them from Egypt ?
2- the first aid kit what exactly it contains?
Your prompt reply is highly appreciated.
