 Dozens of men, women and children of the island of Qurasaya formed a human shield to prevent security forces that raided the island in the early hours of yesterday from seizing a one acre land lotSecurity failed to disperse the shield and just surrounded the land lot without attempting to evacuate the single house built in the middle of it Meanwhile, four bulldozers have dried out five acres of ponds that were seized earlier from the residents According to local Newspaper al-Masry al-Youm, Magdi Youssef, a resident of the island, said the police stormed into my land saying they were carrying out orders We told them we are willing to dig our graves here and you can burry us in them Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, a resident, said they want to seize more land. Another resident who requested anonymity said that strangely enough nobody came near the land that MP Mohamed Aboul Enein owns here
