As a beginning of pre-contest humanitarian work today BAHRAIN'S first entrant in the Miss Idealistic Arab World contest was jetting out to Egypt

Ms Wafa Janahi, 23 year old who law graduate, was due to leave on an early morning flight for Cairo.
Her departure comes after she announced she was pulling out of the high profile contest early last week, following remarks in which an Arabic newspaper columnist criticized the event as a thinly disguised contest.
Contest organizers said it was conceived to show the academic and charitable achievements of the modern Arabic woman.
Ms Janahi later had a change of heart and decided to take her place alongside women from 21 other Arab nations at the event, which culminates on July 26.
Ms Janahi will join with the other contestants in participating in a number of humanitarian activities.
The participation of a Bahraini in the contest for the first time has been arranged with the backing of Bahrain based events company Tree works International.
Yesterday the firm's marketing manager Tima Issa explained the format of the event.
The contestants will start humanitarian work and each will have their own agenda to be working on.
She added "They will be taking lectures in humanitarian issues and they will visit certain places be engaged in real activities in the field"
Ms Issa also revealed details regarding the criteria on which Ms Janahi would be judged at the event's finale.
"Wafa will introduce herself and Bahraini women and she then will have to answer a couple of questions from the judging panel," she said.
"She will do this in a traditional outfit. Most of her work at the humanitarian camp will be graded and there will also be grades given according to her answers to the questions she is asked on the night," she added.
Ms Janahi's supporters, including those who have written to GDN in recent days to urge the young Bahraini to represent local women in the event, will not be able to follow the contest as it happens on July 26.
